Bonjour, Tansi, Hola, Hello,

My name is Hailie Logan and welcome to my online portfolio! I am so excited to share with you my journey through education for the past six years of my career. I first realized I wanted to become a teacher when I worked at a daycare in my hometown. I loved the children’s curiosity and enthusiasm. This gave me a jumpstart into the world of working with children. Once I realized that teaching was the path I wanted to be on, I applied to the elementary program at the U of R. The four years of my degree were tough, terrifying, exhausting, rewarding, exciting, and dare I even say fun! I know in my heart that teaching children is my passion.

I graduated from the University of Regina in the Elementary Education Pre K-5 program in 2018. From there, I went onto teach my first job in a K-2 classroom in Eastend Saskatchewan. I made lifelong friends in my coworkers and learned how to dive into the world of teaching; more specifically multi-grade classrooms. Once my contract was up, I then moved to Christ the King School where I started my more permanent journey of teaching with a wonderful group of staff and students. I first worked for two years in the grade 1/2 split classroom, followed by the next three years in the grade 2/3 classroom. Currently I am still at CKS and loving it.

In 2020, covid just hit and the worry of continuing to online teach was looming over teachers heads. This was something I had never expected to navigate in my career but like all others, I knew teaching was my passion and I couldn’t give it up. That fall when we returned to schools, I thought there was no better time to enroll in the online special education program through the University of Saskatchewan. I knew that early in my career I was hungry to learn more about teaching students with diverse needs. I wanted to learn as much as I could to implement as much strategies as I could. Although I have much more to learn, the special education program taught me a great amount to help all students who walk into my classroom.

In this portfolio, I hope you will find everything you need to know about my teaching style and how I run my classroom. I hope that you learn who I am as a teacher and how passionate I am about making a positive influence in children’s lives.
